1. Firefighters, family mourn the loss of Capt. Bone who died after contracting COVID-19

Family members and hundreds of officers gathered on Saturday to celebrate the impact Capt. Merrill Bone with the United Fire Authority had on their lives. Speakers talked about Bone's desire to learn, humor and ability to teach.

2. 91-year-old woman killed, multiple others injured in American Fork crash

One woman died and four other people were injured in a car accident Saturday night in American Fork.

3. Houston leaders seek clues for concert surge that killed 8

Authorities said they would watch video, interview witnesses and review concert protocols to determine how eight people died at a Houston music festival when fans suddenly surged toward the stage to watch rapper Travis Scott.

4. Appeals court stays vaccine mandate on larger businesses after petition from Utah and others

A federal appeals court on Saturday temporarily halted the Biden administration's vaccine requirement for businesses with 100 or more workers, as a response to a lawsuit filed by five states, including Utah, and private parties.

5. Police identify man killed in crash involving a truck at new intersection in Tooele County

One man died and another person was transported to the hospital after a collision between a Dodge Durango and a cement truck early Saturday, Utah Highway Patrol said.

1. Damir Kreilach's last-ditch goal clinches RSL's dramatic playoff berth on Decision Day

Kreilach scored a goal in the 95th minute, and David Ochoa made four saves to make it stand up as Real Salt Lake defeated rival Sporting Kansas City 1-0 at Children's Mercy Park, clinching a playoff berth in the final minute of the regular season Sunday in Kansas City, Kansas.

2. Foul trouble, poor shooting doom Jazz in loss to Magic

Utah's season-long shooting struggles continued in Orlando Sunday. And for the second-straight game, it couldn't overcome them.

Cole Anthony scored 32 points to lead the Magic to a 107-100 win over Utah Sunday at Amway Center.

3. 'It really does go by in a flash': Here are the 14 players BYU honored on Senior Day

All good things must come to an end, and the Cougars honored 14 players — including 11 non-seniors — prior to kickoff against Idaho State in the home finale at LaVell Edwards Stadium, a 59-14 win over Football Championship Subdivision foe Idaho State (1-8). Three of them were known — seniors Jared Kapisi, Uriah Leiataua and Samson Nacua have exhausted their eligibility.

4. Tavion Thomas tears through trees in 52-7 rout over Stanford

The sophomore running back, who emerged as Utah's starting running back recently, completed the hat trick — and more — for the second-straight week as the Utes rolled past Stanford 52-7 Friday night.

5. 6A volleyball: Lone Peak rallies to beat rival Pleasant Grove for 5th title in 6 years

Emeline Hudson and Jayda Tupea each had 11 kills, and Hannah Hawkins dished out 26 assists to help Lone Peak to a 24-26, 25-14, 26-24, 25-15 win over Pleasant Grove to clinch the Knights' fifth title since 2016 at the UCCU Center.
