DRAPER — A motorcyclist died Friday evening after a crash on southbound Interstate 15 in Draper.
The man was on I-15 near 12000 South around 6:34 p.m. Reports say he was driving recklessly and entered the high-occupancy lane where he collided with the rear end of a Toyota Prius after failing to slow properly, according to a Utah Highway Patrol press release.
Four teenagers in the Prius were uninjured, but the man's injuries were "non-survivable," police said.
The left three lanes of I-15 will be closed until approximately 10 p.m. while troopers investigate the crash.
"Please slow down while driving through this area and avoid it if possible," UHP asked in a tweet.
The man's identity has not been released.
Update: Left three lanes closed. Right lanes open. Please slow down while driving through this area and avoid it if possible.
