ST. GEORGE — An elderly man was seriously injured on Monday when he rolled his car after he fell asleep while driving, police said.
The man was driving eastbound on Sunbrook Drive around 10:30 a.m. when he fell asleep and crashed into the median separating Dixie Drive and Sunbrook, according to St. George police officer Tiffany Atkins.
When the man drove into the median, he hit a tree, causing the car to roll and land on the driver's side of the vehicle, according to Atkins.
The man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, Atkins said.
Further information, including the identity of the driver, was not released. Atkins said the crash is under investigation.
