THE DRIVEWAY — We've all heard that the mail does not stop for rain, sleet, ice or snow.
But it turns out the ice part can cause delays.
Just look at this video, where a poor delivery man gets more than he bargained for on an icy driveway.
We've been there before: the ice dance. It isn't graceful. We usually land on our behinds. Sometimes there's cursing. Or crying. Or both.
But this guy proves why deliverymen are the best of us as he dutifully scrambles to pass on his package, unflinching in the face of such awkward footing. He even tries to use his truck to get his balance, but the ice refuses to let him off so easily.
So the man sits, thinks, and comes up with a brilliant plan to get out of his predicament: shuffleboard. Or at least, what ensues looks like a game of shuffleboard. If the ice is too slippery to walk on, use that to your advantage.
With a mighty shove off from the truck and a running start, the man slides the package perfectly, with no regard to his own safety.
He winds up spread-eagled in the center of the driveway, but the package is safely in the customer's hands. The man, the absolute maniac, the hero of the hour, doesn't even mind — he offers a thumbs up and ceremoniously butt-scooches back to his truck.
As the saying goes, the mail isn't thwarted by the weather … and it looks like neither are the spirits of good deliverymen.
