(KSL News) Hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights will welcome the Christmas season tonight at Temple Square and elsewhere through downtown Salt Lake City.
The annual Lights On! celebration kicks off this evening at 4:30.
Some of the trees on Temple Square will have as many as 75,000 lights on them. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints says by next year, it may go with all LED lights at Temple Square.
Gallivan Plaza and The Gateway both will light up their holiday spaces as part of the celebration, as well. The festivities will include the lighting of a 35-foot Christmas tree at The Gateway, and plenty of music, merriment and a visit from Santa Claus.
