LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Utah State University has received a $3 million donation from the Sorenson Legacy Foundation.
The gift will fund an interdisciplinary endowed chair and an endowed arts program to develop the skills of those who teach the arts to elementary school students.
Half of the donation will fund ways to integrate the teaching of the arts with core curriculum classes such as math, science and writing.
The other $1.5 million will fund a chair in elementary arts education.
The Sorenson Legacy Foundation is a nonprofit corporation established by the James LeVoy Sorenson family to promote charitable and educational interests.
