(KSL News) Two people were hit by vehicles in separate accidents that happened within an hour of each other.

The 70-year-old was taken to the hospital in very critical condition.

The driver said he didn't see the man crossing the street because the sun was in his eyes.

The other accident happened just before 10 a.m. in the area of 5600 South and 1700 East. A 20-year-old man was hit while crossing the street. The driver took off.

The 20-year-old was treated and released at the scene.
