PLEASANT GROVE, Utah (AP) -- A dispute over a proposed sex offender treatment facility in Pleasant Grove will likely be decided by a district judge.
In August, the city's planning commission had denied a conditional-use permit sought by Alliance Youth Services to run a residential treatment facility. The company won an appeal of the decision and a review of the process from the Board of Adjustments.
A board decision was expected Oct. 16, but the meeting was canceled. City Attorney Tina Petersen now says an attorney for Alliance Youth Services plans to take the issue to court.
A person answering the phone at Alliance Youth Services on Monday declined comment and said he could not disclose the name of the company's lawyers to The Associated Press.
