THE SOCIAL MEDIA — Some celebrities have done social distancing right.
Stanley Tucci’s Instagram is now full of him cooking his favorite recipes, John Krasinski delivered "Some Good News" to us every week on YouTube (he's sold the show, but will still be involved here and there), and Jimmy Fallon continues "The Tonight Show" from home with the charm of his small daughters.
Well, let me introduce you to the newest "right thing" from a celebrity that is something you won’t want to miss.
You may not know the name Mandy Patinkin, but you certainly know his arguably most famous character, Inigo Montoya from "The Princess Bride." In fact, you’ve probably said his most famous line dozens of times in your lifetime: "Hello, my name is Inigo Montya, you killed my father, prepare to die."
Well "The Princess Bride" came out in 1987, and 33 years later pop culture, and Patinkin, have changed.
In a delightful series on Twitter, Patinkin’s son quizzes his parents about pop culture to test their modern knowledge. And just as one would expect from their parents, their knowledge is not exactly ... modern.
The latest clip quizzes the now 67-year-old Patinkin and his wife about the song "Call Me Maybe," and the odd dance craze "flossing." The quiz is interactive, and you’ll be oh so glad it is.
When his son asks Patinkin to floss, the results are oh so wrong yet oh so right. Let’s just say I’ll watch Inigo Montoya kill the floss (instead of Prince Humperdinck) any day.
