DRAPER — A suspected drunken driver who ran a red light and hit a family of four was arrested over the weekend.
Saturday night, Matthew Urban Carrasco, 22, of Draper, ran a red light at 100 W. 12300 South and hit a car with a man, woman and their two children, according to a police affidavit.
The man and woman “both had numerous fractures” and were taken to a hospital, the affidavit states.
Police responding to the scene noted that Carrasco “smelled of alcohol and numerous open alcohol containers were located in his vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was also located in his vehicle,” according to the affidavit.
Carrasco was arrested for investigation of two counts of DUI causing serious injury, possession of drug paraphernalia, running a red light and not having a valid license.
