THE RED CARPET — Walking the red carpet at a big movie premiere is something A-list stars are likely tired of. Waving and posing for cameras, signing countless autographs, and often watching a movie you're in for the thousandth time. But that doesn't seem to be the mindset of superstar Will Smith.

Smith plays the Genie in the new live-action version of "Aladdin", and while critics were mixed on the movie, most were unanimous with his portrayal of the Genie. Smith's energy and suave demeanor played well to the big blue guy, and it turns out that his magic doesn't just stay on the screen.

During a red carpet event — or in this case, purple carpet — Smith was heading to do numerous interviews when he came across two little girls excited about the new movie. Smith stops and chats them up and doesn't seem at all offended when the girls seem less than enthused that he's there and want to know where his friends are.

Smith puts his ego aside and asks the girls if they've seen Princess Jasmine yet. He also explains that he can't use his magic out in public for various reasons. Smith then invites the girls, with mom's permission, to follow him so they can meet Jasmine.

There is a lot to love about this video, but I think my favorite thing is the publicist, or possibly assistant, trying to move Smith along to stay on schedule. In her defense, I don't think she's being rude, but rather trying to do her job. Despite this, instead of moving down the carpet to hob knob with other celebrities or chat with a reporter from Entertainment Weekly, Smith decides to help the girls meet the person they are there to see.

As a father, I love this video. As a Will Smith fan, I love this video. And just as a human being, I love this video.
