SALT LAKE CITY — Police are investigating a crash that critically injured a pedestrian in Salt Lake City Friday evening.
A 22-year-old man was hit by a car near 1110 S. State Street around 7:45 p.m., police in a news release. Police believe he was hit while crossing the street but are unsure whether he was in a crosswalk.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition with "life-threatening" injuries, police said.
The 62-year-old woman who was driving the car stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, the release says.
Southbound State Street is closed from 1000 South to 1200 South while emergency crews investigate the crash.
