SALT LAKE CITY — A new fire sparked east of Bear Lake in northern Utah Thursday afternoon, according to Utah fire officials.
The fire, now dubbed the North Eden Fire, had burned approximately 6,000 acres as of 11 p.m. and was 10 percent contained, Utah Fire Info reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
Two fire engines were destroyed in the blaze after one had a mechanical issue and crews were unable to move it. Three firefighters who were trying to get the engine moving again escaped uninjured, officials said.
