SANFORD, Fla. — Police officers in Florida, who were trying to capture a woman fleeing after a car chase, got some help from an unlikely source: a herd of cows.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, authorities in Sanford, Florida, were pursuing a woman in a stolen car Sunday. The car chase abruptly turned into a cow chase, however, when the vehicle crashed near a pasture and the woman got out and started running. As you can see in this video, the woman was definitely not alone in the field and the herd of cows who called it home were more than happy to continue the police department's pursuit.
"If you see the large group of cows, they're literally following her and uh, chasing her," a voice can be heard saying in the video, trying to describe the woman's location and the unusual situation to the officers in pursuit.
Yesterday's Have You Seen This?
The cows follow the woman around the field — at one point it even looks like they may be ready to take her down — but eventually, they chase her to a corner of the field where officers are waiting to arrest her.
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office posted the video to YouTube Tuesday explaining in the description, "Our alert team assisted Sanford police on Sunday, tracking down two suspects who crashed a stolen car, bailed out and ran. A group of cows provided law enforcement a big assist, repeatedly following and helping corral one who strayed onto their turf."
So, I guess, there you have it. Don't mess with cows on their own territory.
