Talk about a close shave. I get a pit in my stomach every time I watch the clip, which occurred in Himachal Pradesh.

THE MOUNTAIN ROAD — Years ago, I went on an epic trip to India and Nepal with my sister. We trekked through mountain passes, visited remote villages and tracked tigers in the jungle.

As you might expect, the roads were dangerous in some of these areas. Narrow passages. Steep cliffs. Fallen rocks. While the drivers never looked particularly nervous, I usually felt tense until we arrived at our destination.

I couldn't help but remember some of those experiences when I saw this video.

Wow. Talk about a close shave. I get a pit in my stomach every time I watch the clip, which occurred in Himachal Pradesh. This is India's northernmost state, where mighty rivers and the Himalayas define the landscape.

The car's driver posted the video to YouTube along with the reassurance that "we are safe by the grace of God and the rock-solid bonnet of our Mahindra Scorpio S10." He then reminds everyone to always stay alert when driving on mountain roads, which are also wise words for those of us here in Utah.
