PROVIDENCE, Cache County — Remains found by a hiker in the foothills above Providence Sunday were identified as a missing Wyoming man, authorities confirmed Tuesday.
The body was identified as Kyle Ryan Burton, 18, of Lovell, Wyoming. He was last seen in River Heights on Nov. 28, 2017, Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Locke said. Authorities at the time said Burton was believed to be without a coat or a phone.
A cause of death was not released.
“Our condolences go out to the Burton family and those that knew Kyle, with thanks to all those that were diligent in putting out posters and continued the search for Kyle,” Locke said in an emailed statement.
Deputies went door to door and handed out flyers searching for clues in the days after Burton disappeared. Family members thanked authorities and volunteers for searching by land and air for Burton in a post on a Facebook page dedicated to finding Burton.
