Police catch pharmacy robber who claimed he couldn't afford medicine

Surveillance video showed 50-year-old Michael Carroll of Price robbing the Albertsons pharmacy on Red Cliffs Drive. He displayed a handgun and told the clerk he was "a cancer patient and couldn't afford the medicines."

The Carroll demanded a variety of pain pills, which the clerk gave him, and he left the store on foot.

With the assistance of the Utah Highway Patrol, Washington City police were able to identify and arrest Carroll during a traffic stop near mile marker 51 on I-15.
