Work is on hold at a Park City construction site after the discovery of explosives from an old mine.
It happened at the old Daly-West Mine Site on the road to Guardsman's Pass. Crews excavating for a huge lodge found a cache or a vault with explosives inside.
Park City spokeswoman Phyllis Robins said, "Unified Fire Authority from Salt Lake did respond, assessed the situation and has advised us to move with a private contractor."
Robins said access to the site has been sealed off and that it may take a couple of days for the materials to be removed. She says as part of the building permit process, contractors are warned of potential hazards due to old mining material.
