(KSL News) A SkyWest airplane that departed from the Salt Lake airport never made it to its destination because of some suspicious baggage.

A SkyWest representative says a passenger who was sick got off the plane shortly before takeoff. Once in the air, the passenger's friends who were still on the plane found some bags they thought their sick friend had left behind.

The pilot decided he didn't want to fly with unattended baggage so he flew back to Salt Lake. All of the passengers were taken off the plane and rescreened by security.

SkyWest and airport police searched the plane and found nothing abnormal. It was later determined there was no extra baggage on the plane after all.
