Some well known and some not so well known names are among a list of Utah democrats making plans for next week's national convention in Denver.
Local party leaders claim they are optimistic, saying the west is the most fertile ground for democratic victories in the U.S. Delegates come from various backgrounds.
Kurt Bestor introduced himself. "My name is Kurt Bestor and I'm a first-time convention-goer."
The Utah delegates say they'll have a full agenda starting Monday. Back home, they hope to educate Utahns about Barack Obama. And they may get some help. Party chairman Wayne Holland says he's been talking to a national group that's trying to influence some of the LDS vote in the west.
Nine of the delegates have committed to Hillary Clinton, but they say they'll be ready to support their party's nominee at the end of the convention.
