LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — A former volunteer substitute teacher has pleaded guilty to a charge involving an alleged affair with a teenager.
Former Catholic High School substitute teacher Erica Suskie changed an earlier plea on Thursday after her charge was reduced from sexual assault to first-degree indecent exposure.
A circuit court judge has sentenced Suskie to one year of probation and ordered her to pay a $2,500 fine. Suskie will also have to attend counseling and register as a sex offender.
She will not be allowed to have contact with the victim, identified in court documents as a family friend. None of the encounters happened at the school.
Her husband, Paul Suskie, is a former chairman of the Arkansas Public Service Commission who ran unsuccessfully for the 2006 Democratic nomination for Arkansas Attorney General.
