THE BACKYARD — If you've ever seen a Zamboni in action, and you didn't have the overwhelming urge to drive it, I imagine you aren't being entirely honest with yourself.

I'm a non-sportser myself, but I love watching a Zamboni (invented by a Utahan, by the way) smooth out any amount of sliced up ice. There's just something so satisfying and zen about watching beat-up ice become new and glorious again. Indeed, it may be the closest thing to magic on this earth. (Exaggeration probable.)

So it's no wonder that a kid named Jaxen is also enchanted with the Zamboni, which ultimately compelled him to make a Jaxen-sized Zamboni with his dad.

I don't know if the best part is Jaxen's enthusiasm about how you too can build your own Zamboni, or if it's the demonstration of his homemade machine in action. You'll just have to watch it and judge for yourself.

You may have seen the video as it went viral on Facebook last week, but the oldest copy of the video I could find was posted on YouTube two years ago. Either way, godspeed Jaxen, and may all your Zamboni dreams come true, and I hope you get those ice tires you need.

Yesterday's HYST?
