Samantha Hayes ReportingEyewitness News has been digging for more information on Craig Gregerson. We discovered he has published a lot of information about himself on various web pages. The Craig Gregerson police say confessed to murder, portrays himself in a very different way on singles websites. An even more disturbing dichotomy was what those searching for Destiny learned after they saw his mug shot.
Her face was everywhere because hundreds of volunteers went door to door handing out fliers. Now it turns out the accused killer may have been right there beside them, doing the same thing.
Katt Fackrell, Family friend: "The night we found out Destiny had passed on, somebody held a picture of him up and I recognized that picture. And I said, 'he's come to a briefing.'"
Katt Fackrell is positive she saw Gregerson amongst the many volunteers who showed up at the LDS church to search for Destiny.
Katt Fackrell: "The fact he was there, passing out fliers and doing all the things he was doing, makes me think there's something wrong with him. There has to be something wrong with him. I can't express how I feel about it on camera, it would not be appropriate."
Another volunteer recognized Gregerson.
Family Friend: "That night when I saw the picture and then after having a chance to stop and take a break and get away from it so I could break down because I realized he was right there."
Gregerson is married and has child, but that's not what he says on two websites Eyewitness News found. His profile on LDS planet.com reads, "never married, no children. Regularly attends church. And temple worthy."
Gregerson says he has a "ton of ideas that would revolutionize the world. I just need some money and I can get them started. I have a dog who loves only women, not other guys but he's gentle and loves kids." He also says he is a virgin.
On another website, singlesaints.com, Gregerson claims his parents died a few years ago. He says he is a strong believer in the church.
We also found information through Gregerson's wife. She wrote about their relationship in a blog that is now defunct. She writes about her husband's affair with a woman he met on the Internet. A day before Destiny disappeared, Cadie Gregerson says the cyber woman dropped her husband and she wasn't going to put him with anymore either.
In an interview with KSL Radio today, Gregerson's wife, Cadie, said she doesn't support her husband and plans to file for divorce. She described her reaction to the charges.
Cadie Gregerson, KSL Radio: "I wanted to pass out. I was sickened and I was, actually, I was sitting down and I got off the couch and huddled in the corner. I was hyperventilating. I just can't even describe the shock and hurt that this happened, that I was married to such a sick person."
