SALT LAKE CITY — The following is an up-to-the-minute look at the Democratic caucus results for the state of Nevada and the Republican primary for the state of South Carolina for the 2016 presidential race. All data comes from the approximated numbers from CNN.
Democratic candidates are vying for 43 total delegates in Nevada and Republican candidates are vying for 50 total delegates in South Carolina. The delegates in the Nevada caucus are awarded proportionately based on the votes received for each candidate. The delegates in the South Carolina primary are awarded on a winner-take-all system, with the candidate receiving the most votes getting all 50 delegates.
Delegates are not officially appointed to a candidate until the state parties hold their respective conventions.
The Caucuses in Nevada begin at 12 p.m. MST and the South Carolina primary voting concludes at 5 p.m. MST, at which time the results will start to come in throughout the night.
