(KSL News) Five Utahns, including an infant, were injured at Bear Lake when they were run over as they sat under an awning on a beach.

Idaho State Police say Melissa Peterson, of Orem, was helping set up a camp on Idaho North Beach, near the Bear Lake Hot Springs. They say Peterson was backing a pickup truck to that awning. Instead of hitting the brake, investigators say she hit the gas pedal and backed right over five other people from Utah County, all members of the Pereira family.

Two people were airlifted to hospitals: one to Ogden's McKay-Dee and the infant to Primary Children's in Salt Lake. A third was taken by ambulance to Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.

Two others were treated for minor injuries and released.
