David James Bell is charged with kidnapping his neighbor's two small children last week.

When the children's father found out where his kids were, he reportedly started beating the suspect before calling police for help. South Salt Lake police detective Gary Keller says, "It came in to our dispatch center as a fight in progress."

Could father who beat up alleged kidnapper be charged with a crime?

Keller says they investigated everyone involved in the fist fight, including Bell's roommate. Keller says Bell was hit several times in the head.

As for charges against the father, Keller says it's up to the District Attorney's Office.
