SALT LAKE CITY — In a new video, four Utahns who have experienced significant trials share their tips for how to survive a coming personal apocalypse, according to Garret Stembridge, SEO manager for Extra Space Storage.
Produced by the local storage company, the video highlights six tips for surviving an apocalypse, including things like having a plan, having faith in the people around you and taking it a day at a time.
"You have to fight to survive and have will to survive, and so you kind of go on autopilot," Randall Ercanbrack said in the video.
Ercanbrack survived the Nepal earthquake while climbing Mount Everest in April.
The video also features a little girl who lost her foot in an accident, a woman who lost her job and a refugee from Somalia, according to a manager with Extra Space Storage, Garret Stembridge.
Each tells a bit of their story and explains how they have overcome their trials in a positive way.
"I think that you'd look at someone like a young girl that loses her foot or somebody that's been through just the worst of circumstances … civil war in their own country, and I think it helps you just kind of put into perspective that you know what, what you're going through may not be as bad … as it may seem," Stembridge said. "So we're hoping that when someone sees that, they'll be inspired and not lose hope and … not give up and … just take courage and go forward."
