(KSL News) -- A man is facing charges after police say he apparently took a break from burglary to cook up some dinner.
There's a characteristic smell and sound from frying bacon. That's what police say a Salt Lake homeowner encountered as he returned to his apartment late at night.
He says he came home late Tuesday night and found a stranger sitting in his kitchen. He had fried up to two pounds of bacon he found in the refrigerator. The tenant quickly called police.
Officers say the bacon-eater's speech was so slurred they didn't bother interviewing him. He was booked into jail and could face burglary charges. Police say they are investigating whether the man was intoxicated or not.
Officers say they have no idea why he was pigging out in the stranger's apartment.
