It's Flag Day, many places across the valley honored Old Glory during special ceremonies.

Special ceremonies held in honor of Flag Day

Men dressed in Civil War clothing raised the flag this morning at This is the Place Heritage Park. The group then fired off muskets and a canon.

Many flags were on display throughout the park.

In West Jordan, American flags lined the street leading to the Veterans Memorial Park.

Members of the city's fire and police department posted the colors followed by the singing of the national anthem.

Special ceremonies held in honor of Flag Day

Flag day was first observed back in 1877 to honor the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the current flag with 50 stars and 13 stripes.
