(KSL News) A freeway crash this afternoon on I-15 left one person dead and sent another to a hospital in critical condition.

Utah Highway Patrol officials say the accident happened just after 3 p.m. near Milepost 329 in Kaysville.

A vehicle was traveling in the left lane on southbound I-15 when another vehicle tried to merge into that lane. The driver of the first vehicle swerved to get out of the way and ended up going down into the median.

Two killed in separate accidents

Investigators say the vehicle crashed into the barrier. The passenger died on the scene, and the driver was flown to the hospital.

And a 15-year-old girl died tonight in a rollover accident in Sevier County. Officials say the crash happened on I-70 near the town of Joseph.

A driver in an SUV lost control of the car when a hail storm hit the area. The car slid into a median and rolled several times.

The teenager died in the car.
