POINT OF THE MOUNTAIN — A semitruck went through a median on I-15 Monday evening, closing all four northbound lanes.

The accident happened at 14600 South at the Draper/Bluffdale Interchange around 7:40 p.m., according to the Utah Department of Transportation. They expect the lanes to be closed for several hours while crews clean up the accident.

The on-ramp to go northbound at SR-92 was closed to minimize vehicles entering the freeway, according to Sgt. Todd Royce with the Utah Highway Patrol.

Drivers should use alternate routes, UDOT reported.

Sgt. Royce said one person was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Several other cars were also involved in the crash after the semitruck went into northbound lanes.
