Tom Callan reportingSome police departments around the country are parking the squad cars and rolling out the bikes as prices at the gas pump continue to soar.
In Park City, six officers patrol on bikes; and that's just the beginning. "We could have as many as 15 officers on bikes because we have accumulated, over the years, that many bikes," Capt. Phil Kirk said.
He says on Main Street, most officers patrol on foot. He also says a few years ago police invested in motorcycles to hold down the cost of fuel.
