Randall Jeppesen reportingResidents living near Vivian Park in Provo Canyon say the intersection onto the highway is getting more crowded and more dangerous. That was demonstrated during a fatal crash Sunday night.

The canyon road is curvy, and cars zip by the opening to Vivian Park. "It can be really dangerous," said Mike Van Buren, who works at the park.

Van Buren says it's not uncommon to see near misses and people hitting their brakes "There's a lot of problems in and out," he said.

The area is popular with families, river rafters and at times crowds on the historic railroad. But resident Nelson Dorny isn't sure how to make the area safer. "I don't know what else you can do except put in a traffic light, and I'd hate to see a traffic light there," he said.

The children killed in Sunday's crash have been identified as Daniel and Jennifer Lopez from Provo.
