WASATCH COUNTY — One man died and two were injured after motorcyclists visiting from England pulled onto the wrong side of the road Wednesday, police said.
The two men on motorcycles were vacationing in the area when they pulled out on the wrong side of the road onto SR-35 near Wolf Creek Pass to travel west at about 12:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Todd Royce of the Utah Highway Patrol.
The lead rider was able to correct himself to the right side of the road and avoid colliding with a Ford F-250 in the eastbound lane, but the second motorcycle hit the truck head on, he said. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and died on the scene, according to investigators.
The truck and motorcycle went off the road and down a steep embankment, Royce said. The driver of the truck was transported in serious condition to the Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City by helicopter.
The families in England have not yet been notified, according to UHP. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
