SALT LAKE CITY — In the last decade BASE jumping has become a popular extreme — albeit dangerous — sport.
Undoubtedly it’s a rush of a feeling, mixed with a little bit of everything that’s scary about heights: falling.
Nevertheless, Dean Potter, a famous rock climber and BASE jumper, decided to take man’s best friend with him on his latest jump, which was documented in a recent YouTube video.
Standing atop Eiger Mountain in Switzerland, Potter and his dog, Whisper, suited up and performed the “world’s first wingsuit BASE jump” involving a dog — goggles and all.
Both landed safely, much to Whisper’s happiness — or at least that’s what it appeared to be from the video.
Although it makes for a cool video, it’s not recommended to try BASE jumping with your dog.
