UNDER THE SEA — If a scuba diver were to ever get bored with the amazing sights in the mysterious fathoms below, there are plenty of unusual and entertaining things to do. Here's a quick list to give you an idea of the activities and hijinks that are possible:

  • Underwater obstacle course
  • Underwater tea party
  • Underwater ironing
  • Underwater scavenger hunt
  • Underwater yoga
  • Underwater pumpkin carving
  • Underwater basket weaving

I was actually invited to an underwater pumpkin-carving contest years ago, but I wasn't able to attend. Sounded like a really fun time, if you ask me.

One thing I'd never heard of is underwater painting. Check out this video to see what it looks like.

According to the video's caption, this footage was captured near Thailand's Koh Tao island. The artist is Olga Belka, who is apparently a professional underwater artist and has been "recognized by international media as the world's only underwater portraitist."

This painting includes a seahorse to symbolize the Year of the Horse in astrology. And if it's anything like Belka's other work, the piece will wind up in a gallery somewhere. Her underwater paintings are known for their vibrant colors and are sought after by collectors.
