DOGVILLE — It’s a tale as old as time, the story of a dog and his beloved bucket. That is not a typo.

We’ve all seen adorable pictures and video of animals becoming exceptionally attached to everything from stuffed toys and blankets to other animals and humans. But one does not expect the hard inhumanity of an old, red bucket to be the other half of a love story.

However, based on the video, there is no doubt that a dog named Charcoal worships his bucket. It’s obvious that the bucket has seen him through good times and bad as a true blue companion that accompanies Charcoal at home, on the trail and in the pool.

The skill and joy Charcoal displays when playing with his bucket is beautiful to behold. At one point, Charcoal flips the bucket and catches it on his head. Then he runs around for a bit before coming to sudden stop so the bucket slides off his head, and he catches it with his mouth before it hits the ground.

If that isn’t the practiced choreography of true love, I don’t know what is.

Although the “Eye of the Tiger” is great accompaniment to the video, may I also recommend putting the video on mute and playing “You Make My Dreams” by Hall and Oats while watching it. Don’t ask why I thought to do this in the first place, just enjoy.
