PROVO, Utah (AP) -- Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain will get their own ZIP codes on July 1.

Instead of being in 84043 with Lehi, Eagle Mountain will be 84005 and Saratoga Springs will be 84045. Both cities now share the ZIP code 84043 with Lehi.

"I'm very excited," said Eagle Mountain Mayor Brian Olsen. "It's a step forward for our community. It provides us with an identity and symbolizes our future as Utah's new frontier."

Saratoga Springs Mayor Timothy Parker said the action "means we're big enough to get our own number, but not big enough to get our own post office."

Postal Service retail specialist Linda Pickett had been working on a contract to establish a retail office at the Smith's grocery store in Saratoga Springs, but the deal fell through last week. She said she hopes to find another location.

Olsen said he is now gathering information on what it would take to get a post office in Eagle Mountain and has contacted federal officials to ask about funding.
