MOUSTCHIA — It is officially Movember, which means it's time to show off your Mo and or appreciate some of the great lip caps throughout history.
Today, we're going to pay homage to five of the 'staches that changed the way we look at Hollywood.
Let me start off by addressing the fact that Groucho Marx and Charlie Chaplin are not on the list.
While you'd be hard pressed to find two moustaches that are more iconic they weren't real. Groucho's moustache was applied using grease paint and Chaplin's was a fake to make him appear older as the Tramp. Both of these men did grow moustaches later in life, but the iconic facial hair we've come to love from these two are movie magic.

This list is for the men who grow the 'stache, own the 'stache and make the rest of us feel sheepish for not having the 'stache.
Richard Pryor was a comedy pioneer and he had the face furniture to back it up.

Pryor's soup strainer was thick and beautiful. It's almost as if his upper lip was created for the sole purpose of supporting a moustache. He used it well and is definitely one of the iconic 'staches Hollywood has to offer.
Nick Offerman is a bit of a new comer to the scene, but his upper lip plumage makes almost all other moustaches weep out of respect.

Offerman may be better known as Ron Swanson to many of you, which is just fine, because all respectable men wish they were more like Ron Swanson. If you plan on growing out the mouth brow, don't try to get the Offerman off the bat, you'll likely hurt yourself.
Do I really need to say anything here? I mean this is Burt Reynolds, the man who you may better know as The Bandit, J.J. McClure, Sonny Hooper and Nick McKenna. OK, maybe not McKenna, but how do you get a cookie duster more dominating and demanding of attention than Reynolds? The answer: It's hard to do.
You say "moustache" and one of the first things you think of is Burt — Stinking — Reynolds. Don't act like you don't.

Men, it's time accept fate and realize you will never be as dapper as the one and only Clark Gable. Women, it's time for you to get real as well and accept the fact that your man will never be as charming and suave as Clark Gable.
Gable is so debonair that the band The Postal Service even wrote a song called, "Clark Gable," suggesting that the protagonist in the song kissed a girl in a style even Clark Gable would have admired.
What's amazing is that Gable accomplished all of this with an iconic pencil moustache that the rest of us would be ridiculed to tears for sporting.
Well played, Mr. Gable. Well played indeed.

We knew it was coming. We saved this one for the last because no moustache has ever looked better than on the face of Magnum P.I. himself, Tom Selleck.
I do not have physical proof of this, but I'm fairly confident that Selleck was born with that lip rug and the doctors and nursing staff in the room applauded him as he sat himself up and pulled out a tiny comb to style that epic mo.
Everyone on the list has an iconic and incredible moustache, but all men, including Ron Swanson, wish their 'stache looked half as good as the lip rug that lies beneath Selleck's nose.
What do you think are some of the best moustaches from Hollywood? I know Ron Burgundy has a great one, but I stuck with the real men who sported it at all times and made it a trademark.
