SALT LAKE CITY — Utah's capital city is bringing in a "bold, genre-spanning" roster for its 2026 Twilight Concert Series lineup, including some familiar indie artists, an acclaimed hip-hop artist and a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Old Crow Medicine Show will highlight this year's first show at Gallivan Center, 50 E. 200 South, on July 13, Twilight Concert Series organizers announced on Tuesday. The influential Americana band, which won a Grammy Award for best folk album in 2015, became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2013, a prestigious recognition within the country and folk music realm.

The season will end with indie rockers The War on Drugs on Oct. 1, also at Gallivan Center. The Philadelphia-based band, which won a Grammy Award for best rock album in 2018, has hinted that they're working on new music, which would be their first studio release since 2021, Stereogum reported in October.

Four other shows are slated between, which will be split between two venues yet again. Hip-hop artist Freddie Gibbs will play at the Gallivan Center on July 17, while British actress/indie pop singer Suki Waterhouse — with her nearly 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify — will headline a July 27 show there.

Indie pop band MUNA will headline an Aug. 4 show at Salt Lake City's Civic Center, previously known as Library Square, 200 E. 400 South. They're on tour supporting "Dancing on the Wall," their first studio album since 2022. Jam band rockers Goose will headline an Aug. 29 show at Civic Center.

"With four shows at the iconic Gallivan Center in the heart of downtown plus two in the larger Civic Center venue, we're able to welcome new audiences, deepen community connections and celebrate coming together for live music in our city," said Nic Smith, director of S&S Presents, the event's organizer, in a statement about this year's lineup.

The Twilight Concert Series, entering its 39th year, shows how art plays an "essential role" in community connections, added Felicia Baca, executive director of the Salt Lake City Arts Council, which also helps put on the annual event.

"In a moment of heightened polarization, investing in shared cultural experiences helps bridge differences, strengthen civic life and support the conditions for communities to thrive," she said.

Tuesday's announcement comes a week after S&S Presents unveiled the lineup for its 2026 Ogden Twilight Concert Series. The lineup there includes artists like The Black Keys, Gregory Alan Isakov and Wet Leg, as well as 2025 Salt Lake City Twilight Concert Series headliners Mt. Joy and Big Thief.
