Blaze make final cuts in preparation for 2008 season

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze have reached their required 24-man roster today by releasing DL THADDEUS BULLARD (6-4, 271, Florida) and waiving the following players:

WR ANTHONY BROWN (6-6, 224, Arkansas)

LB VALENTINE CHUDE (6-2, 263, Western New Mexico)

LB LIAM EZEKIEL (6-4, 240, Northeastern)

FB ALVERTIS GATLIN (6-2, 267, Harding)

QB ROYAL GILL (6-5, 230, New Mexico State)

DB TERRANCE SANDERS (5-10, 176, Eastern Illinois)

DB JACOBY SHEPHERD (6-2, 221, Oklahoma State)

OL WALLY SONNIE (6-2, 346, Ashland)

WR DAVID SUTTON (6-6, 221, UTEP)

The Blaze also placed DL JOHN CULP (6-5, 301, Kansas), OL EDDIE KEELE (6-4, 306, BYU), DL MAURICE FOUNTAIN (6-4, 247, Clemson), LB COREY DODDS (6-2, 245, Utah) and DB MELVIN MATLOCK (5-11, 196, Minnesota State) on the injured reserve list.

The Blaze will open their 2008 season on Saturday, March 1 at 7 p.m. in the EnergySolutions Arena against the Arizona Rattlers.
