EAGLE MOUNTAIN CITY — Eagle Mountain City is holding its first annual citywide yard sale Saturday, Sept. 14. City officials said they have over 130 residents and businesses involved in the sale and are expecting a big turnout to the event.
Homeowners will be responsible for setting their own hours and managing sales at their individual homes. A map of sale locations and descriptions of items being sold is available at the Eagle Mountain yard sale website.
Eagle Mountain City Mayor Heather Jackson said she credits innovative city managers for organizing the event.
"We look forward to having shoppers visiting from outside our city and taking advantage of these great sales," Jackson said.
Residents and businesses wishing to participate in the sale must register their location first at yardsales.emutah.com. City officials said registration must be completed before the day of the sale.
Eagle Mountain City is known for its voracity for yard sales. The Eagle Mountain 24/7 Yard Sale Facebook page has over 10,000 members and has been growing steadily over the last two years. The site is used primarily for selling second hand items, but has also become a type of community page for Eagle Mountain City.
