SALT LAKE CITY — Whether you go every week in the summer or this will be your first time shopping at a farmers market, the Downtown Farmers Market has something for everyone.

The market has extended its Saturday hours by an hour, so late risers can make it to the market, too. Head over to Pioneer Park between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to shop. The real treat, though, is the vendors offering everything from fresh, organic produce to baked goods and food carts. Those looking for handmade goods, a craft market full of treasures has its own corner in the park.

With more than 250 vendors from 19 different counties throughout Utah, it was impossible to cover them all, but if you want to see highlights of what else you can get at the market besides fresh produce, check out the list below.

Fish and Seafood

Aquarius Fish Company supplies local, regional, national and global fresh and frozen seafood, including sushi and shellfish.

Freshies Lobster Company gives you the option of cooking your lobster at home or having it prepared for you. Buy their fresh lobster caught in Portland, ME and shipped overnight or their lobster roll — lobster on a hot dog bun drizzled with clarified butter — at the Downtown market or Park Silly market this summer. Baked Goods

New to the market this year, The Bagel Project sells fresh, handmade vegan bagels and bialy (described as a cross of the bagel and English muffin). The goods, made by Utah transplants from New Jersey, are said to replicate the famous New York bagel. Enjoy their homemade spreads and toppings, too.

One look at their fruit pies in the hand of another shopper is all it will take to convince you to snatch up one of the personal fruit pies from Burningham Fruits. The shells are baked ahead of time, but the fruit is cut up and drizzled with glaze on site.

Getting up early is made a little easier with flaky croissants, buttery scones and fruit Danishes. Lucky for you, Crumb Brothers Artisan Bread brings their organic breads and pastries with them from Logan to the market.

If you want a heartier breakfast, newcomer Dottie's Biscuit Barn serves up fresh biscuits and gravy, in addition to their homemade jams, honey butter and pies.

Bake up some authentic Brazilian style cheese bread from dough made by Cheese Bread Mania. The bread comes in original, sun dried tomato, jalapeno and four cheese flavors, and is gluten free.

Another newcomer, Epicurean Chefs sells pre-made meals and desserts, as well as fresh pizza dough and homemade mozzarella. Check out their other high-end offerings and catering menu at the market.

Meats

Get your barbeque fix with Granddaddy Dean's BBQ. They slow cook their meats to tenderness. Their pulled pork was even recommended by Bon Apetit magazine.

Morgan Valley Lamb raises their sheep traditionally on Utah's lands. They sell their naturally raised lambs to high end restaurants and supermarkets throughout the Salt Lake Valley.

Like many farms and ranches at the market, Canyon Meadows Ranch is a family-owned and operated business. They raise their grass-fed beef near Altamount.
