THE CAPITOL — The second film in the "Hunger Games" saga isn't due in theaters until November, but we finally have our first trailer of the highly anticipated sequel.

The trailer for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" premiered during the MTV Movie Awards, and the trailer makes it seem as if the new movie ups the stakes in every way possible from the first film.

For those who have not read the series, the second book "Catching Fire" follows Katniss and Peeta as they embark on a tour across Panem as the victors of the annual Hunger Games. Without realizing it they spark the beginnings of a revolution and the president of Panem, Snow, will do anything he can to kill the uprising before it begins.

The trailer captures the moral dilemma our victors now face and even gets us a peek at the romantic struggle between Katniss, Peeta and Gale. Much like the first trailer for "The Hunger Games," this "Catching Fire" trailer has caught our interest. (I had to use the play on words there.)

The new direction from Francis Lawrence isn't as stylized as that of Gary Ross, director of the first film, but it still has that gritty tone that we've come to expect and appreciate.

The trailer plays heavily on a dialogue between President Snow, Donald Sutherland, and Plutarch Heavensbee, Philip Seymour Hoffman. The scene that is repeatedly played throughout the trailer is between two brilliant actors, and it shows. The back and forth is disturbing, haunting and all-around entertaining. If we can expect that kind of level of dialogue and acting throughout the film, then "Catching Fire" will likely outdo its predecessor.

What were your thoughts of the new trailer? Do you like the direction the series is headed or does it look like a mistake? Let us know on the comment boards, Facebook or send me an email.

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" is scheduled to hit theaters Nov. 22.
