ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- The city of St. George will receive $90 million from the Federal Aviation Administration for a new airport.

The grant is spread out over eight years, through 2015, according to the letter of intent.

The new airport will have a 9,300-foot runway and will cost about $170 million to construct. It is intended to accommodate regional jet service and is expected to open in early 2011.

The new site is located in the southeast part of the city.
