SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Salt Lake City and county officials are arguing over parking at the Salt Palace Convention Center.

The city wants to impose a $5 fee for parking at several public buildings, but the Salt Palace is owned by Salt Lake County. And county Mayor Peter Corroon doesn't want the city to add the fee for parking on county property.

Both sides say language in state law supports their argument.

County officials hope the resolve the issue after new mayor Ralph Becker's administration gets settled.
