Debbie Dujanovic ReportingBroken bones, concussions, children hurt on school grounds -- an Eyewitness News Investigation about what's happening on school playgrounds has parents disturbed, calling for action.

We first showed you the images last night at 10:00. The viewer response has been constant all day. The stack of emails, the phone calls keep coming into the newsroom. Parents confirming problems at schools all over Utah, demanding more be done to keep kids safe.

After seeing the video we'd captured of what's happening during some school recesses, parents called right away demanding schools do more and to share their stories. Here's what viewers are saying:

Roger Muir, Concerned Parent: “Being pushed down, being called names, one girl spit on his tray, his lunch tray.”

Patricia Chmara, Concerned Parent: “My son has had numerous situations. He got bit two weeks ago, which drew blood – which, that’s serious.”

Sandy Harris, Concerned Parent: “Some parents might not know their child is being the bully. That’s why I came forward.”

Christina Suarez, Concerned Parent: “They need to be punished in some way, right away. There shouldn’t be 20 chances.”

Emails about our story are pouring in too.

"I was so appalled I could not even finish watching it…perhaps somebody will listen and actually do something about it".

Another says her child's bullied every day at school, "I believe the school cannot protect my child…The school-safe zone, and all that stuff is just so unreal.”

Another: “My daughter's has been bullied since elementary school, she's talked about killing herself.”

Another mom says, “Exactly what you reported about is exactly what I have been to the school about or called a million times over for two years.

The reaction indicates the problems we uncovered may be more widespread than education officials are willing to admit. Exactly what do they say? We get some answers tonight on Eyewitness News at Ten.
