SALT LAKE CITY — New data from the Centers for Disease Control confirms that more Americans die from cardiovascular disease than anything else. Heart disease and stroke cause 1 out of 3 deaths in the U.S.

The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital hosts a convenient way to get in the recommended daily 30 minutes of exercise using the TOSH Fit program.

The TOSH Fit program trainer, Rebecca Bennion says it's a great way to workout.

"We have fun and we laugh, and workout all at the same time," Bennion said.

The routine consists of a mix of different drills to help your heart. But, that's not the only motive.

"Our goal is to improve their strength, improve the balance, coordination, help them develop more cardio vascular fitness and just those things that tend to decrease as we age." she said.

Doctors recommend five days of exercise a week, and the structured workout from the TOSH Program, coupled with expert instruction won't waste your time.

Trainers tailor the TOSH Program to fit age, gender, and physical abilities- an individual approach in a small group setting.

A mother and TOSH fit participant, Amy Rex has been going for almost a year and says it's a life changing routine.

"I'm showing my kids that being healthy is important and it's not just to be thin but it's about overall health," Rex said.

Another TOSH participant, Yvonne Holdener, says, "It allows me to do more things athletically with them and not be the one that stays home while they go out and have fun."

One thing that the program offers is support and that's what keeps the participants coming back day after day to exercise.

Classes start at 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday at TOSH- The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital in Murray. The classes run every half hour throughout the day. The program costs $50 for a month and participants receive 5 sessions a week. New participants can have their first week free by calling 801-314-2996 to sign up.
