BIRMINGHAM, United Kingdom — Texting while driving has undoubtedly become a serious concern on the roadways of the world. Perhaps texting while walking ought to get a little more attention as well.

Surveillance video of a shipping district in downtown Birmingham known as the Mailbox caught video of the stunned Laura Safe walking directly into a frozen canal last week.

The International Business Times reports that she was composing a text to her boyfriend while walking down some stairs. Safe reads news for a Capital FM, a radio station house in the Mailbox.

Mistaking the frozen water for concrete, she continued to walk full speed ahead — that is, until she suddenly fell straight down into the ice. Safe struggled to remove herself from the water before being aided by a nearby businessman.

"Oh dear. I should really be called Laura UNsafe after the day I've had! Lol," she said on her Twitter account after the incident.

Only Safe's pride was injured in the fall. And her willingness to text while walking.

"I'm a lot more cautious," Safe told The Sun. "I don't text any more. I'm too scared."
