SALT LAKE CITY — The Road Home shelter in Salt Lake City is not possible without volunteers.
When we asked the people in charge there for the name of its "volunteer extraordinaire," they pointed us toward Liz Taylor.
"She's truly amazing. We couldn't do it without her," they said.
The Road Home's Celeste Eggert wrote about Taylor, "Love that she has for the residents of The Road Home is true and shows in everything she does for us."
Taylor coordinates the effort to provide hot meals for 350 homeless men once a month.
"They only get fed a couple of times a month, and they just love a home-cooked meal," Taylor said.
She also oversees bags given to The Road Home clients at Christmas time. They contain hygiene items, plus hats and gloves.
For her efforts, our High 5 partner, Les Schwab, gave Taylor a gift basket and $100 toward tires.
